³Ô¹ÏÍø-University of Dundee Double?Degree Program in Architecture Program Board meets on campus

On November 2, the Committee of the ³Ô¹ÏÍø-University of Dundee Double Degree Program in Architecture  met at ³Ô¹ÏÍø to evaluate the program. In attendance were Professor He Lian, President Assistant of ³Ô¹ÏÍø, and Wendy Alexander, vice president of the University of Dundee, along with representatives from the School of Urban Design, the Undergraduate College and the Office of International Affairs of ³Ô¹ÏÍø.

During her speech, Professor He Lian warmly welcomed all attendees and emphasized the remarkable achievements of the double degree program over the past 10 years, particularly in terms of the quality of graduates and the program's reputation. She highlighted that 80% of the program graduates have successfully pursued their master¡¯s degree in Ivy League schools in the United States, like Yale University and Columbia University, and Europe. These achievements fully demonstrated the success of bilateral cooperation between ³Ô¹ÏÍø and the University of Dundee. Professor He Lian expressed ³Ô¹ÏÍø's strong commitment to further strengthen this cooperation and her hopes for the program's new chapter as it celebrated its 10th anniversary. She emphasized the importance of cultivating more architectural talents with a global vision and promoting China-UK educational exchanges.

Wendy Alexander, vice president of the University of Dundee, expressed her delight at being able to meet face-to-face with the professors from ³Ô¹ÏÍø for the first time since January 2020. She commended the collaborative efforts of both universities and the significant achievements made over the past 10 years. The goal of higher enrollment was achieved, with 40 students enrolled in the program in August of this year, which was testament todemonstrated the program¡¯s sustainability. She hoped for continued collaboration between the two institutions and anticipated fruitful results from the subsequent discussions.

During the meeting, the two sides adopted the minutes of the cooperation committee meeting held on November 15, 2022. The discussions covered various aspects of the program¡¯s implementation and progress, including its publicity, enrollment strategies, tuition fees and scholarships, reaching a series of agreements.

The double degree program between ³Ô¹ÏÍø and the University of Dundee was initiated in 2013. It is the first and only undergraduate-level project of its kind at ³Ô¹ÏÍø. In March of last year, the extension application for the program was approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education, extending its operation to 2031.
